Some of this list may look a little dated, some of it may even look un-Australian, but I&#8217;m a fan of it all, so you can stick it!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Days Like These &#8211; The Cat Empire<\/strong><br \/>\nDid you expect me to lead like that? TCE&#8217;s Jazz-Funk fusion always get me in the groove, which leads me to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bobby Got &#8211; <a title=\"His Merry Men\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hismerrymen.com\/\">His Merry Men<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong>I have \u00c2\u00a0to plug my brother&#8217;s band. I&#8217;m not linking to anyone else but them in this whole series. Check them out. Seriously. They&#8217;re great! If you&#8217;re in Brisbane, go to one of their many gigs!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Girl of My Dreams (Is Giving Me Nightmares) &#8211; Machine Gun Fellatio<br \/>\n<\/strong>Harken back to my uni days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pleasure and Pain &#8211; Divinyls<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Divinyls always slip under my radar. I do like them, so here they are.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s My Scene &#8211; Hoodoo Gurus<br \/>\n<\/strong>Despite being co-opted for a footy advertising campaign, I still like this song.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pressure Down &#8211; John Farnham<br \/>\n<\/strong>Gotta have some Farnsey, and this is less overplayed than &#8220;You&#8217;re the voice&#8221; by a mile.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are You Gonna Be My Girl? &#8211; Jet<br \/>\n<\/strong>Drag us up into a high energy zone with something a little harder so that we can hit us some&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Back in Black &#8211; AC\/DC<br \/>\n<\/strong>If Angus Young screaming at you doesn&#8217;t get the blood pumping, nothing will.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dancing Queen &#8211; Jimmy Barnes<br \/>\n<\/strong>Barnesy covered ABBA for Andrew Denton&#8217;s Musical Challenge. It&#8217;s a great cover, with Barnes&#8217; trademark gravelly voice ripping up the disco classic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Down Under &#8211; Men At Work<br \/>\n<\/strong><del>You know what? I don&#8217;t have this track. I could swear I did. I&#8217;ll have to fix that.<\/del> Fixed. Not sure why I didn&#8217;t have it; I always enjoy listening to this song.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Boys Light Up &#8211; Australian Crawl<br \/>\n<\/strong>It&#8217;s cutting, it&#8217;s sly, and it&#8217;s got a great beat!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dumb Things &#8211; Paul Kelly<br \/>\n<\/strong>I&#8217;ve done plenty of them myself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flame Trees &#8211; Cold Chisel<br \/>\n<\/strong>I really didn&#8217;t want to include &#8220;Khe Sahn&#8221;. Seems like that&#8217;s the only Cold Chisel song anyone ever plays. &#8220;Flame Trees&#8221; is much better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Run to Paradise &#8211; Choirboys<br \/>\n<\/strong>Another Aussie classic. I&#8217;ve always loved it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Better Be Home Soon &#8211; Crowded House<br \/>\n<\/strong>Let&#8217;s finish up with an exhortation to return before it&#8217;s all over&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Obviously this list could go on forever. I&#8217;m going to have to return to this theme at some other date and make a sequel.
